United Opposition: Armenia’s Hope for Democratization

Fernando Casal Bértoa is a Nottingham Research Fellow whose work focuses on political Parties, Party Systems and Elections. Dr. Bertoa explains possible developments in Armenia and its political party system following the transition to a parliamentary governance and takes a comparative look at Armenia’s government driven reform, which he says, taking into consideration the current centralized power structure, is not likely to result in consolidated democratization without alteration through a consolidated opposition.
