Inside Armenia’s science crisis, and the fight to fix it

Science, innovation, and long-term investment are critical to Armenia’s future but remain underdeveloped and often overlooked in national policy. Yet, strengthening research and development (R&D) is key to boosting both security and economic competitiveness. Eric Hacopian speaks with Tigran Shahverdyan, co-founder of Robomart and member of the Gituzh initiative about the state of science in Armenia, Gituzh’s role in advocating for increased R&D funding, and how coordinated public outreach and policy engagement have already led to tangible results, including higher academic salaries and expanded research support.
