New arrests hit opposition party ahead of June elections

  • Ahead of upcoming elections, Armenian authorities detained 14 individuals linked to Samvel Karapetyan’s Strong Armenia party over alleged vote buying. 

  • Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan clashed with opposition lawmakers during a tense question-and-answer session in parliament regarding the opening of regional borders. 

  • There is still no clear agreement on Armenia’s Russia-managed railway system.
