With a vote of 54 to 42 with three abstentions, the Greek parliament passed a bill on September 9 that will criminalize the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

The bill, “Fight Against Xenophobia” will bring criminal charges against those who deny the Armenian Genocide and other crimes against humanity, including the Holocaust and the Pontus Greek Genocide. The bill envisages fines and imprisonment.
