Karabakh Defense Ministry: Azerbaijan Responsible for Consequences of Escalating Tension

The press office of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Ministry has issued another statement this evening following the deaths of four Armenian soldiers along the northeastern portion of the Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact at approximately 5:30 p.m. on September 25.

The statement says that judging by the escalation of Azerbaijani military operations and attacks, using different caliber guns and rockets, it is clear that the military and political leadership in Baku wants to transfer the process from the negotiation table to the battlefield.

The Defense Ministry considers the actions by Azerbaijan’s armed forces as cynical and proves that the adversary is illustrating a tendency to undertake deliberately provocative actions, the consequences of which will be unpredictable.

“Based on the current situation, the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Ministry, once again, brings to the attention of the international community and in particular those structures commissioned with negotiating for a peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict, Baku’s consistently destructive and provocative policy and cautions that any consequence deriving from this current situation rests solely upon the Azerbaijani side,” the statement concludes.
