Armenian Soldier Killed in Tavush Marz

Arman Harutyunyan, a 21-year-old soldier has been killed by Azerbaijani gunfire near the village of Voskevan in the northeastern marz of Tavush. Defense Ministry Spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan confirmed the news to CivilNet.
On January 11, Azerbaijani saboteurs had killed an 80-year-old man from the village of Voskevan during an incursion attempt along the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border.
According to information coming from Tavush marz, the adversary was firing in the direction of the Armenian villages of Berdavan, Dovegh, Barekamavan, Koti, Voskevan and Baghanis from their military positions along the border.
The villages of Dovegh, Barekamavan, Koti and Berdavan had come under direct gunfire while in the other villages, Azerbaijani gunfire was directed primarily toward Armenian military positions located near these villages.
CivilNet’s contact in the village of Dovegh said that at approximately 10:00 P.M. Azerbaijani gunfire had subsided.
The mayor of the village of Baghanis, Narek Sahakyan told CivilNet that they were still firing but not in the direction of the village.
