Hard to imagine Karabakh’s future without Russia, says Karabakh president

Karabakh President Arayik Harutyunyan reiterated his administration’s commitment to the region’s “de facto independence,” while also expressing Stepanakert’s openness to holding direct talks with Baku.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan called on Baku and Ankara to enter into more “constructive” negotiations with Yerevan at a press conference Thursday alongside his Iranian counterpart. The two foreign ministers then went to Kapan to open Iran’s new consulate there.

Armenia’s Defense Ministry denied reports that Armenian forces in the eastern Gegharkunik region opened fire in the direction of an Azerbaijani vehicle.
