Dear Prime Minister Pashinyan:
In your speech on the 35th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, you made the case that the Karabakh movement was the result of Soviet ideology and was actually designed and used to prevent the creation of our state, the real Republic of Armenia, as you call it, with its 29,743 square kilometers.
Fair enough, if that is the case, then I have the following questions for you:
- If the Karabakh movement was inspired by Soviet ideology and ambitions, does that mean when you chanted “Karabakh is Armenia” in Stepanakert, you yourself were at that time under the sway of Soviet ideology?
- If that is so, how did you cure yourself from being under the sway of Soviet ideology?
- If the Karabakh movement was a Soviet project, why did Soviet leaders reject countless attempts by the Armenians of Karabakh to join the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic?
- Do you now believe the over 4,000 Armenian soldiers that you sent to war and who never returned to their families died in vain?
- Do you believe the ethnic cleansing of 150,000 Armenians from Artsakh was a good thing? Since it led to the creation of the “real” Armenian state?
- Do you believe that Azerbaijan had the right to cleanse 150,000 Armenians from Artsakh ethnically?
- You said in your speech that “The Republic of Armenia is today more independent than ever, more sovereign than ever.” If so, how come a dictator who is occupying a sovereign Armenian territory can order you to change our constitution?
- Have you ever considered that your inability to take your share of the responsibility for the disasters that have befallen our people of the past five years is actually a legacy of Soviet ideology?
