Armenia’s first architecture biennial turns Yerevan into a live exhibition

The inaugural LINE Armenian Architecture Biennial has launched in Yerevan. This month-long festival features eight installations scattered across Yerevan, transforming public spaces into platforms for dialogue. The opening exhibition, “Public Spaces of Yerevan: Then and Now,” looks at how the city’s public areas have changed over time. It places old architectural plans and photos next to new ones, giving visitors a side-by-side view of what has been built, what has been lost, and what remains. The festival includes exhibitions, symposiums, round-table discussions and more. We speak with international architects like Raffy Mardirossian and Cindy Yinn about their interactive installations. Meanwhile, co-founder Shant Charoian talks about the three-year journey to bring the program to life.
