Israel moves toward recognizing Armenian Genocide
The ruling Civil Contract party selected current Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan for the parliamentary speaker post in an internal vote. He will replace Alen Simonyan.
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has announced he had initiated a process for the country to recognize the Armenian Genocide of 1915. It will have to be approved by the country’s legislature.
Armenia is moving to introduce new regulations requiring all mobile phones to be registered with the authorities. The plan has raised concerns over privacy, government surveillance, and data security risks.
