Hanna Notte: The limits of Russia’s influence in the Iran conflict

Hanna Notte, director of the Eurasia Nonproliferation Program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, examines how the U.S.-Iran conflict has affected Russia, weighing the benefits of higher oil prices and pressure on Ukraine’s air defenses against the risks of instability in Iran. She also discusses Moscow’s efforts to mediate and its limited influence over U.S. diplomacy. The lecture was delivered in Tbilisi on July 1, 2026.

This lecture is part of the Monterey Summer Symposium 2026, held across Uzbekistan, Georgia and Armenia from June 18 to July 10, 2026.
