Water-resources experts Iskandar Abdullaev and Gulnoza Khamdamova discuss water, power and regional cooperation in Central Asia. Abdullaev examines how aging infrastructure, growing demand and climate change put pressure on shared rivers. He also explores competing needs for hydropower and irrigation, Afghanistan’s expanding water use and how joint investment and energy exchanges could ease tensions.
