Armenia adopts strict residency requirements for voters

Armenia’s parliament has adopted a bill introducing stricter residency requirements for potential Armenian voters. Per the newly passed legislation, Armenian citizens will be required to have spent at least 366 days of the last two year period within the borders of Armenia in order to cast ballots in national and local elections as well as referenda.

Armenia’s parliamentary vice speaker Ruben Rubinyan will step down as the country’s special envoy in negotiations with Turkey after taking the position of parliamentary speaker.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has proposed a series of judicial reforms, while admitting they would only be possible as part of a new Armenian constitution.
