12-year-old Karabakh child spends nights in lines to secure bread for family

12-year-old Tigran is living in Artsakh under a 9-month Azerbaijani blockade and faces daily struggles for bread. Standing in long lines for hours, he sometimes returns home empty-handed. With flour shortages limiting bakery output, securing a spot in line is uncertain.This week, the government in Nagorno-Karabakh put in place a new voucher system in order to ration bread supply.  The state-issued ration coupons mean each person will be entitled to half a loaf of bread. And most days, this is considered a meal for the nearly 120,000 residents of the region.
