Young volunteers in Karabakh deliver food to those in need

For the last two months, 16-year-old Karabakh resident Nare has been volunteering to  help deliver food to those in need. The critical shortages in food, medicine, and other supplies in Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) are a result of the 9-month illegal blockade by Azerbaijan. The lack of fuel means that any available resources can be acquired only by those who are able to travel long distances on foot. For the ill and the elderly, this is impossible on most days

Initially, Nare was tasked with delivering bread from bakeries to the elderly who were unable to stand in long lines, but as bread shortages worsened, the mission shifted. Now, Nare and the team also deliver food from a local soup kitchen, doing whatever they can to support their community.
