Pashinyan, Aliyev arrive in Saint Petersburg for post-Soviet summit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Saint Petersburg for an informal summit of post-Soviet countries.

The Saint Petersburg summit came after Pashinyan and Aliyev met for talks in Prague that led to an apparent breakthrough statement for Armenia and Azerbaijan to recognize each other’s territorial integrity.

Pashinyan also held talks in Prague with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, marking the first meeting of Armenian and Turkish leaders in over a decade.

Armenia’s National Assembly appointed former Justice Minister Karen Andreasyan and his deputy, Yeranuhi Tumanyants, to key judicial watchdog posts in a party-line vote.
