The Last Days in Artsakh

Following Azerbaijan’s attack on Karabakh on September 19-20, authorities announced the dissolution of the Karabakh Defense Army and state institutions. Tens of thousands of Armenians took whatever belongings they could and gathered in the center of Stepanakert, the region’s capital. From there began the mass exodus of Armenians from Karabakh. A long line of cars that led to #Kornidzor, Armenia.

The staff who ran CivilNet’s #Artsakh newsroom - Hayk Ghazaryan, Hasmik Khachatryan, Siranush Adamyan and Ani Balayan - were among the more than 100,000 Armenians who left behind their homes and their homeland. These are the bits and pieces of their last reporting up until the complete ethnic cleansing of the region.
