At the ongoing 2026 Cannes Film Festival, two Armenians have received standing ovations.
The first was Armenian-French actor Simon Abkarian, who portrays the iconic figure of Charles de Gaulle and the Armenian filmmaker Artavazd Peleshyan was also honoured at the festival through a special Cannes Classics tribute.
