Armenia to allocate $46,000 to treat three children from Gaza

The Armenian government will allocate about $46,000 to bring three children with serious health conditions from the Gaza Strip to Armenia for medical treatment, under a decision approved on Aug. 20.

The three children and their accompanying adults, six people in total, will travel to Armenia through Jordan, according to the government decision.

They will be transported by land from the Allenby border crossing between Israel and Jordan to Amman’s international airport and then flown to Yerevan on a scheduled flight. Armenia also plans to send a two-person medical team to the Allenby crossing to assist with the transfer.

About $34,000 of the funding will be used to provide medical care at specialized hospitals in Yerevan.

One child, diagnosed with primary hyperoxaluria and having undergone liver and kidney transplants, will receive examinations and follow-up care at the Arabkir Medical Center. The other two children, who have congenital heart defects, will undergo surgical and interventional procedures at the Nork-Marash Medical Center.

The remaining funds, about $11,500, will cover transportation, airfare, accommodation and travel expenses related to the operation.

Payments will be made based on actual expenses, with any unused funds returned to the state budget.
