Victoria Nuland to Visit Armenia

U.S. Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland.

U.S. Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland will visit Yerevan on February 18, according to the U.S. State Department.

According to a statement on their website, the State Department writes that Nuland will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan on February 16 where she will meet with senior government officials “ to work to strengthen bilateral relations on trade and investment, energy diversification, security and counter-terrorism, and democracy and civil society, as well as toward advancing a just and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. She will also meet with representatives from civil society groups.”

From there, Nuland will travel to Tbilisi, Georgia where it is planned she will meet with senior officials to talk about a wide range of issues “ including Georgia’s path toward European integration and Georgia’s efforts to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

The following day, the U.S. Assistant Secretary will arrive in Yerevan to meet with government officials, civil society organizations and youth groups to discuss a variety of issues including “people-to-people ties with Armenia and advancing a just and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
