On April 1, after a closed-door session between the four opposition factions of the National Assembly, Armen Rustamian, head of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction, announced that the four opposition factions will be holding a three-day rally from April 28-30.
Vardan Oskanian, Naria Zohrabyan and Stepan Margaryan from the Prosperous Armenia faction, Armen Rustamyan and Aghvan Vardanyan from the ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction, Aram Manukyan and Levon Zohrabyan from the Armenian National Congress faction, and Ruben Hakobyan and Tevan Poghosyan from the Heritage faction participated in the closed-door session.
Mr. Rustamyan noted that details of the decision to present a vote of non-confidence in the government on April 28 were discussed during the session, as well as a program for various public events.
“We foresee holding a joint rally in Freedom Square from April 28-30. According to the constitution the vote of non-confidence in the government must take place no sooner than 24 hours and no later than 72 hours after the proposal has been made. This means that the vote will take place on April 30,” stated Rustamyan, underscoring that the goal of the rally will be to raise awareness.
