Armenia and Azerbaijan deploy guards to newly delimited sections of border

  • Border guards formally began patrolling sections of the border between Armenia’s northeastern Tavush region and Azerbaijan’s northwestern Gazakh district, following the withdrawal of troops, as stipulated in last month’s controversial delimitation deal.
  • The war of words between the Armenian government and Armenian Apostolic Church continued to escalate, with the church’s governing body slamming what it called the government’s “false, baseless, and unfounded” accusations against it.
