Wendy’s opens its first restaurant in Armenia

American burger chain Wendy’s opened its first restaurant in Armenia on Friday.

Although the opening ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, the restaurant on Abovyan Street in central Yerevan has already begun serving customers. 

Wendy’s first announced its arrival in the country in July, saying it plans to open 20 locations by 2030. The brand’s operations in Armenia will be managed by franchisee Wen Restaurant LLC.

Armenia’s fast food market is currently dominated by local brands, mostly standalone outlets, alongside international players such as KFC and Burger King, while McDonald’s has no presence in the country. Wendy’s already operates in neighboring Georgia, which may facilitate supply chain and logistics planning as it expands into Armenia.
