The Ghost City of Ani

The ancient Armenian city of Ani, in present-day Turkey, is a sacred place and a central cultural symbol of the Armenian people. Heghnar Watenpaugh, the co-chair of the Department of Art and Art History at UC Davis spoke to CivilNet about the present condition of Ani, known as the City of 1001 Churches, and the restoration and conservation process that has taken place through the years.
