Here are some photos of Kesab today, photographed by media activists between March 27 and April 4. Photos show rebels photographing the space that used to showcase the statue of the late Syrian president Hafez al-Assad.
The attack on Kesab has resulted in the displacement of more than 600 families. All are accounted for except 9 individuals who remain missing. Some stayed behind when the majority fled. Others were taken with those who were displaced -- either willingly to the Syrian city of Latakia in the first wave, or later, by Turkish-supported rebel groups who took them across the border to the village of Vakifli, just within the Turkish border.
