New possibilities and partnerships opened up for Armenian feature-length fiction, animation and documentary film productions after Armenia became a member of the Council of Europe Eurimages fund.
Taking into account that Armenia does not have access to the support mechanisms of the Creative Europe Media Program, Eurimages has also opened up its support for exhibitions program for Armenian applicants.
Active since 1989, Eurimages was established as the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe and is based in Strasbourg.
Eurimages promotes the European audiovisual industry by providing financial support to feature-length fiction, animation and documentary films produced in Europe. In doing so, it encourages co-operation between professionals established in different European countries; projects submitted must be co-productions between at least two independent producers, established in different member states.
Eurimages has a total annual budget of €25 million. This financial envelope derives essentially from the contributions of the member states as well as returns on the loans it grants. There are four calls for projects per year.
