Azerbaijan cannot ignore Karabakh Armenians’ rights: Iran’s envoy to Yerevan

  • Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan again said Yerevan hopes to sign a peace treaty with Baku in the near future, even as he questioned Azerbaijan’s commitment to the peace process.
  • Pashinyan met with the chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court, which Armenia formally joined last month in defiance of repeated warnings from Russia.
  • Speaking exclusively with CivilNet, Iran’s ambassador to Armenia expressed his support for the rights of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians, prompting Azerbaijan to issue a statement decrying the diplomat’s “baseless and provocative opinions.”
