CivilNet’s fact-checking unit - #CivilNetCheck - has become the first Armenian member of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN). The network unites 50 of Europe’s leading fact-checking organizations, which are committed to combating disinformation through rigorous fact-checking and media literacy.

EFCSN applicants undergo a thorough review process to ensure they meet its strict standards for accuracy, proper methodology, impartiality, independence, and transparency.

Established in 2022, the network works to defend free speech and journalistic values, ensuring that the public has access to verified and reliable information..

In 2023, #CivilNetCheck also became a certified member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN). Through cooperation with these international networks, CivilNet gains new opportunities to combat disinformation and conduct quality fact-checking, both in Armenia and across Europe.

#CivilNetCheck was initiated in 2021 with a mission to combat fake news in Armenia. It exposes and raises awareness about disinformation, manipulation, and supports the development of fact-checking journalism.
