Armenia’s ice hockey team victorious in second consecutive game

Armenia’s national ice hockey team clinches a 3-2 shootout victory in a neck-and-neck game against Uzbekistan on April 14, the second day of the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship, Division IV.

The tightly-contested match saw two goals scored from each team in the second period, with no goals in the first and third periods. After a goalless overtime, the teams went straight into a thrilling shootout, with Armenia winning by a score of two goals to one.

Prior to the match, Armenia’s head coach Vadim Guskov said that on paper Uzbekistan’s team is a cut above the rest, making this victory particularly significant for Armenia.
